Je suis en France!

How weird is it that I am sitting in a café/bar in France. It sure took a lot of work to get here. I didn't sleep the night before our flight since we left on New Year's at 6am. I slept some on the flight to Atlanta then I got to enjoy a long layover. The overseas flight was very long. I slept some but I would inevitably wake up so it wasn't that great. Then we got to Paris at 6am, Jan. 2nd, Paris time and had to wait for the others to fly in until about 10:30am. Then we got the pleasure of a 5 hour bus ride to Besançon. I naturally slept most of the time.

We started classes Wednesday, the day after we got here. However, we only have it for 3 hours each day this week. Monday we take a test which determines which level we place into. Then we start a more intensive language course Tuesday.

Evidently the Alps skiing trip is in a couple of weeks, then the shopping trip, then we all go to Paris at the end of January. Lots to do this month.

It's funny to see how the French people view Americans. Last night, some girls and I met these French guys and they were trying to compliment us but doing a very poor job. They said things like "You're not fat like most Americans" and "You're prettier than most Americans." Uh, thanks.

Hope all is going well with you and if you're in the mood send me an e-mail so I know what you're up to.

Love always,
Julianne

Julianne! I'm so happy you made it there safely. I'm very excited for you, the pictures are awesome and how they view us is very funny, but true. Have you caught up on your sleep yet? Are you adjusting to the time change yet? I hope all is well i love you and miss you and will keep in touch! Love,Amy
